The dye process is a prime example of when art and science intersect. It requires discipline and technical skills built over time working with color. The color makeup demands specific preparation to suit its end-application and get the desired result.
Our Color Shop is where the process begins. We work from traditional methods established in print shops over the past century to start with a foundation that’s tried and true. The dyes and pigments are water-based, and every color is specifically formulated to match a desired hue and saturation. Additionally, the colors are made for particular fibers to control its flow properties.
Mastering the traditional long-hand method of production leads to consistent, repeatable results. When a beautiful piece is achieved from working with so many variable ingredients, it is clear that this is a true art and science for textile design.
